Understand behavior from the inside out.
Imagine if you could…
🌟 Truly understand your child’s behavior by deeply understanding their brain and nervous system, gaining insights that bring you closer.
🌟 Shift from “managing behaviors” to simply supporting them – saying goodbye to time-outs, removed privileges, and rewards that feel out of sync with what your heart knows they need.
🌟 Create a home built on trust and partnership, where collaboration strengthens your bond.
🌟 Embrace your own wisdom as the loving guide for your child and family, confident in what you know works best for you.
Together, we’ll look beyond behavior and lean into connection, helping you nurture your child’s resilience and your relationship with compassion and warmth.
Better behavior is simply a byproduct of feeling safe.
IN CASE NO ONE HAS TOLD YOU LATELY...
YOU CAN SAVE yourself.
There's joy on the other side.
INTRODUCING
THE PDA PARENTING LAB
Â
Parenting a PDA autistic child can feel like navigating uncharted waters. Traditional methods just don’t seem to fit, leaving you exhausted and questioning yourself – and maybe even feeling further from your child than ever. But there’s a way forward that aligns with your instincts and nurtures a deeper connection.
The PDA Parenting Lab is a program designed to help you break free from the hamster wheel of behavior-focused approaches and instead build a relationship grounded in understanding, support, and trust. Together, we’ll explore the science behind your child’s behavior, uncovering how to nurture nervous system safety and fostering the connection that your family is searching for.
This is more than a parenting program – it’s a journey toward a peaceful, connected family life where your child feels valued, safe, and understood.
You don't have to do this alone.
Here's what we'll do...
Â
→ Module 1: Laying the Foundation
Start by understanding the complexity of the nervous system and how your child’s unique brain responds, especially in moments of stress. Discover how true regulation is achieved, creating a foundation for support and connection.
→ Module 2: Shifting the Mindset
We’ll explore why traditional approaches may have left you feeling stuck and how shifting to a problem-solving approach to parenting can unlock powerful changes in your relationship.
→ Module 3: Daily Supports That Fit
Learn practical supports and accommodations designed for demand-avoidant brains, working with your child’s hard-wired need for autonomy and equality. You’ll see how authenticity can transform everyday interactions.
→ Module 4: In-the-Moment Supports
Develop confidence in recognizing those early signs of dysregulation and responding in ways that work with demand-avoidant brains. Together, we’ll fill your toolbox with strategies to meet each developmental stage and discover what brings peace to your home.
→ Module 5: Navigating Life Together
Craft a supportive plan for talking to friends, family, and others about your unique family’s needs. We’ll also explore ways to advocate within systems like school and therapy so you and your child feel understood and supported.
→ Module 6: Building Insight Gently
Learn ways to talk with your child about their brain, helping them understand their unique strengths and struggles. Together, we'll explore how to help your child begin to accommodate themselves and advocate for their needs.Â
BONUS: Nervous System Support for PDA Caregivers
Are you totally fried? Does self-care feel like a pipe dream? Let's talk about real-life strategies for soothing your nervous system.
BONUS: Navigating Sibling Relationships with PDA
Â
Is trying to support your children's relationships and balance their differing needs one of your biggest challenges?
You aren't alone.
In a sea of online programs... why work with me?
Â
Here’s a bit about me and why I see this journey in a way that few others do:
Â
→ Mom of two unique kids – one with a very externalized presentation of PDA and another who might be neurotypical (but probably not.) I know firsthand the complexities of living a parenting life set to "hard mode."
→ Wife to a late-diagnosed PDA autistic husband. Navigating life as a neurodiverse family gives me unique insight into the challenges and connections that come with it.
→ 10+ years as a licensed therapist. I bring a wealth of experience from working directly with families, especially those who are breaking away from behavior management.
→ A deep foundation in attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and relational neuroscience. 🤓 I’m all about blending art and science to create meaningful change.
→ A fellow neurodivergent mom, wife, friend, sister, and human who has been in the trenches and knows your struggles deeply. I get it because I live it.
Hi!
I'm Lindsay
A therapist of over 10 years, a late-diagnosed ADHD woman, and a lover of fancy coffee and good books.
When I gave birth to my first child in 2014, I was quickly baffled. Who let me parent this kid? Why did all of the things the parenting books suggested seem to make his behavior worse? I was definitely messing this all up...
It wasn't until our son received an autism diagnosis at age 7 and we stumbled across PDA that everything clicked into place. We were going about this all wrong. Rather than having behavior issues to be solved through rewards and consequences, he needed nervous system support and co-regulation.
I've been where you are! I saved myself... and you can, too.
